AVA

Alexandra Victoria Alvarez (Ava) is an aura investigator. Scientist, curator, writer and poet, she follows one question through all of her work: what makes an encounter with art feel unique, and does that feeling survive the screen?

She is a PhD candidate at the University of Vienna and a Predoctoral Researcher at the University for Continuing Education Krems, studying the aura of artworks at the Belvedere Museum and is a MSc of Psychology of Art, Neuroaesthetics, and Creativity from Goldsmiths University of London. She brings seventeen years in the art world across Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom and Austria into the lab, and carries the lab back into the art world. She lives in Vienna and plays the harp.
